Jubilation as the ongoing grading of Butashar-Ganda road embarked upon by a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a Gubernatorial aspirant in Plateau state, Chief Sunday Jonathan Akuns reaches ninety-nine percent completion.
Inspecting the level of work on the road, the District head of Daffo, His Royal Highness, Da Dauda Maren expressed happiness with the quality of work embarked upon by the Governorship aspirant and village head of Mandung, Chief Sunday Akuns.
Da Maren explained that the road which links Daffo town to the neighbouring villages has over the years suffered untold hardship to the extent that the inhabitants of the communities can no longer drive their Cars or transport their goods to the markets.
The Royal father described the gesture done by the Galadima Daffo as unprecedented and the first of its kind in the history of the district for an individual to embark on a self-help project that touches the lives of the inhabitants. According to him, the project was a dream come true for the benefitting communities.
The district head commended the Governorship aspirant for bringing succour to the hopeless communities. He expressed the believe that Chief Akun if given the opportunity to occupy any political office he would bring development to the grassroots and also called on other illustrious sons of the area to emulate the gesture done by the Gubernatorial aspirant.
Da Maren prayed that God will continue to remember him because he did not turn his back on his people that were in dire need of a road to improve their sources of sustenance and wellbeing.
Also at the site of the project was the district head of Sha, His Royal Highness, Da Paul Abakai who praised the Governorship aspirant for his commitment to community development and for demonstrating leadership qualities that is so uncommon.
National Chairman of Daffo Community Development Association, Solomon Zaka lauded the Governorship aspirant for making the district proud pointing out that vehicular movement into the communities was almost impossible as commuters always find it difficult to access the road. He disclosed that residents of the area did not believe that an individual could embark on such a project from conception to this stage of completion given the state of the hardship in the Country.
The National Chairman said Chief Akuns deserves greater responsibility because that is what they need from their leaders and if given him the mandate in 2023 he would do more for the betterment of the state and assured the Governorship aspirant that they would do everything possible to ensure he succeeds in his political ambition.
Representative of the acting Chairman of Mandung Development Association, Ishaya Ajang and the Chairman of the project committee, Hosea Mangut, appreciated the sponsor who is also the village head of Mandung for embarking on such a project that was dear to their communities, adding that history would be kind to him for his selfless service.
Engineer handling the project, Jack Dung explained that the project initiated by Chief Sunday Akuns and a Governorship aspirant in Plateau State was to uplift the commercial activities among people of the communities.
Engineer Jack also said that the work had already reached ninety- nine percent completion.
A motorists plying the road Sunday Amalam and a resident of Manguna district Suleman Abubakar both thanked Chief Sunday Akuns for his usual love and good initiative in spearheading the grading of the road in the area. They expressed joy to God for having such a leader who knows the need of his people. According to them, the project would go a long way in boosting agricultural activities in the area as well as fighting unemployment and poverty in the benefitting communities.
