Plateau Government Calls for Parental Vigilance, and Reassures of Security Collaboration as Bank Robbery Suspect is Apprehended

Following the timely arrest of a Bank robbery suspect at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sparkling Junction Dadin Kowa Branch, the Plateau State Government has called for parental vigilance and reassured the Citizens of the State of security collaboration to address criminality in the State.

The government in a statement signed by the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms commended the Plateau State Police Command for the swift apprehension of a suspect involved in the attempted robbery of a UBA branch in Dadin Kowa, Jos on May 13, 2024.
He said the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and collaboration in maintaining security within our State.

“The act of this individual, a student by some accounts, is deeply concerning. And in light of this ugly event, we urge parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities of their children and wards and to instill in them the values of honesty and integrity, which this state is known for. We must work together to prevent such occurrences in the future.”

“The Plateau State Government under the outstanding leadership of His Excellency Barrister Caleb Mutfwang remains resolute in its commitment to collaborating with security agencies and communities to combat all forms of criminal activity.
He further disclosed that government is leaving no stone unturned to provide the necessary support to ensure the safety and security of all residents.”

He averred that the attempted robbery highlights the potential dangers associated with youth involvement in crime.
In his words “the Plateau State Government is committed to addressing the root causes of crime through various initiatives, including educational programs and social development projects.

“We urge all citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest law enforcement agency. Together, we can build a safer and more secure Plateau State for everyone”.
