Gentlemen of the Press, It has been observed that a deliberate effort is in the pipeline to instill some anti-democratic tendencies in the annals of Plateau State All Progressive Congresses (APC). The widely publicized speech of His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong that Congresses in the State should have some monitors different from the Directives of the National Leadership is creating a serious threat to the APC in the State and goes against President Buhari’s avowed stance on fairness which prompted the directive that congresses be held at all levels. Already, there are aspirants springing and warming up to contest in all the positions at all levels as directed by the leadership.

Therefore, any attempt to circumvent this decision will be counter-productive and this will spell doom for APC in the State.
In a meeting of Stakeholders across the seventeen LGA’s of the state, the Governor and his Co-travelers were advised to shelve this idea and allow democracy to thrive or else there is likely going to be crisis in the party and u factionalization is imminent.
