Plateau community calls on govt to encourage investors

Residents of Kangang, New Abuja Area of Jos South local government area of Plateau State at the weekend called on the Plateau state government to continue to encourage investors resident in the state.
Traditional head of the community Gwom Kangang Rantaya Gyel Da Pam Gyang Pwol made this known while speaking to our correspondent in Jos.
He said the company NELMACO Global Resources LTD has done well in empowering Youths of the community and deserves to be encouraged and not discouraged .
Pwol said “In compliance with the Federal government campaign to encourage local industries with the aim to also reduce the unemployment ratio in the country, Jos based industrialist, Ambassador Uba Nelson Nkparu set up a pipe manufacturing company in our community in Jos south local government area of Plateau with a workforce of over 200 staff on the pay roll and most of them are citizens of the community, this has helped reduced unemployment a little bit in the community .
He said Amb. Nkparu who is also the Managing Director and CEO, NELMACO Global Resources LTD has done well in providing social amenities to the community since the company took off,
He however lamented that some persons are hell bent on destroying the image of the company, by making wrong insinuations about the company , for us the traditional ruler ,we want development in our community and we are calling on government to encourage him .
A Youth from the community Mr Elvis Bot who also spoke to our correspondent also called on the government of the state to support the company since the company has done well in providing social amenities to the community .
According to Elvis ,some persons are going about misleading people ,relevant authorities have visited the company and have discovered that their products and operation have met local and international standard of PVC production ,
Elvis said We have done our research and i can tell you that both states and National agencies saddled with the responsibility of operations of industries
We in this community now enjoy steady power supply ,and the company is also environmental friendly .
It could be recalled that Amb Nkparu who is also the Managing Director and CEO, NELMACO Global Resources had recently , said, “being and indigenous company that is passionate about creating employment for Nigerians, all our staff members are Nigerians who are drawn from different ethnic groups, and their welfare and safety is as important to us as the products we push to the public. “In view of our rapid growth, we continue to employ capable hands who partner with management to take the company to new heights”, he said. The company which produce the high quality Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (UPVC) Pipes, Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Pipes, PVC Ceiling, Borehole Pipes, Conduit Pipes, Water Tanks etc is also seeking to partner with state government to further expand and create more job opportunities to the teeming youths aimed at halting youth restiveness and poverty in the State.
We have also ensure to maintain our Corporate Social Responsibility to our host community without hesitation and as I speak to you we have over 200 indigenous citizens of Plateau working as employees of the company”.
The MD of NELMACO said the company’s product remain unbeatable compare to the ones produced by their foreign counterparts adding that clients come from as far as Cameroon and other parts of the country to Jos to purchase the company’s pipe. “Many people also come from far and near to buy our products, I have people who come all the way from Cameron and other parts of Northern Nigeria to buy our products”. Nkparu said what motivated him to go into the business was because he found out after a careful thorough research that Nigeria does not have a single indigenous pipe making company as most are been run and owned by Indians and other foreigners.
