The Chairman of the Plateau Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Very Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo has advised Christians to be united and live together in peace.
Lubo gave the advice at a Special Annual thanksgiving by the Ifemelumma Youth Club, a socio-cultural, on Sunday in Jos.
The CAN chairman is also the Parish Priest of St Michael’s Catholic Church, Anguldi, Jos, venue of the thanksgiving.
Lubo, who is the spiritual adviser of the group, said unity and togetherness would breed the needed development that the society desires.
He called on Plateau residents to join genuine groups and associations in order to foster unity in the society.
“Unity and togetherness is one of the key component of Christian life. Without unity there is no christianity
“I have always encourage christians to join and identify with groups, by so doing, they will contribute their quarter toward a united Nigeria.
“When you join a a genuine group, you will checked; there is check and balances in every association. When you you didn’t, you become a lone ranger and that is not good for the society,”he said.
He, however, called on associations and groups to put christ at the centre of their dealings, and urged Christians to desist from joining secret cults.
On his part, Mr Ebere Iwuoha, President of the club, said that the thanksgiving was basically to thank God for protection over it’s members throughout the year 2020
