Plateau Aviation Students commend Gov Lalong for prompt payment of scholarship allowances

Ahead of the establishment of National carrier for the country, the Association of Plateau State Aviation Students APSAS on Monday commended Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state for prompt payment of scholarship allowance and other financial support to Plateau state students in the Nigerian Collage of Aviation Technology NCAT Zaria, International Aviation College Ilorin and Air force Institute of Technology Kaduna .
APSAS in press statement jointly signed by Jerry Gwom President and Samuel Innocent Nyanye Secretary and made available to newsmen in Jos said this development has placed Plateau as the only state in the country that has in the last three years consistently sponsored large number of students in piloting, engineering and other aviation related courses.
The duo pointed out that these are renowned aviation training institutions in the country that are established for training; and to create a workforce to service the aviation industry adding that these institutions trains flight engineers, cabin crews, pilots and meteorologists, and offers several other related courses.
According to APSAS, the fees charged are quite high and a scholarship is usually recommended to enable the students cope with the theoretical and practical demands of the training so as to be able to compete with their colleagues any where in the world.
The statement reads in part, “The support given to aviation students by the present administration of Barr. Simon Lalong is enormous and a welcome development. This is in line with the desire of President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration to establish a national carrier for the country before December 2018.
They pointed out that the establishment of a national carrier for the country will also create employment opportunities for these young professional graduates who are trained in various aviation related courses and are ready to serve their fatherland . The statement added .
