Plateau Attacks: Plateau Youth G-17 Provides Water Tank to Displaced Persons

Following the attacks by killer herdsmen that left over 200 persons dead, scores injured, property destroyed and rendered many homeless, the Plateau Youth G-17 Peace and Progressive Forum has provided a water tank full with water to the displaced persons in Gassa Ropp District in Barkin Ladi LGA to meet the water need of the people who have been experiencing acute water shortage.

Leader of the delegation, Mr. Yaks Danja commensurated with the people, urged them to keep faith alive and don’t give up.
He said God would wipe away their tears and restore them beyond human comprehension.

He called on government to rise up to its cardinal constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property of the people.

He also called on government to come up with short, medium and long-term intervention plans for the displaced persons.

He called on the security to be more professional, unbiased and objective in the discharge of their primary responsibilities. He also charged them to best to regain the trust and confidence of the people.

Mr. Yaks called on government and Well meaning citizens to come to the aid of the people who are in need of foodstuffs, beddings, toiletries and good sanitary system.

He said G-17 is providing the tank after a careful needs assessment of the camp which lack good drinking water. He said the people need good hygiene.

He prayed for the souls of those killed to rest in peace while praying God to heal those injured and restore those who have lost one thing or the another in the attack.

He condemned the attacks and genocide in strong terms and pleaded on government to ensure that justice is dispensed to serve as deterrent.
