Plateau APM Governorship Candidate, Samuel Danauta Vows War on Insecurity; Promise Jobs, Industrialisation and Economic Reforms

The 2027 Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Plateau State, Samuel Danauta Kyarkshik, popularly known as SDK, has unveiled an ambitious development agenda anchored on security, economic reforms, human capital development and aggressive exploitation of the State’s mineral, agricultural and tourism potentials.

Kyarkshik, who unveiled his manifesto in Jos, the Plateau State capital said his vision is to move the State away from dependence on statutory allocations and build an economy capable of creating jobs, reducing poverty and improving the living standards of citizens.

Campaigning under the mantra “Take Back Your Destiny 2027,” the APM candidate expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in the 2027 Governorship Election, saying his grassroots-based campaign has given the people a greater sense of belonging and participation in the political process.

According to him, Plateau State has enormous economic potentials that remain largely underutilised, particularly in the areas of solid minerals, agriculture and tourism.

“As a State, we are under-maximising our potentials, which accounts for the 84 percent poverty rate,” he said.

Kyarkshik said his administration, if elected, would pursue an economic model that goes beyond dependence on funds from the Federation Account, insisting that the State can generate sustainable wealth by unlocking its productive sectors.

The APM candidate identified unemployment and inadequate skills as major contributors to poverty and promised to establish a Human Capital Development Agency dedicated to building the capacity of Plateau citizens.

He said the agency would equip young people and other citizens with relevant skills required to compete in the modern economy and take advantage of emerging opportunities locally and internationally.

Kyarkshik disclosed that his team had already developed a skills-gap map, which he said would guide the State in identifying areas of need and matching citizens with appropriate training and economic opportunities.

On security, the governorship hopeful said Plateau requires a more decisive approach to tackling banditry, kidnapping and other forms of organised criminality.

He argued that insecurity cannot be defeated through rhetoric, insisting that the next administration must demonstrate the political will and determination required to confront criminal elements operating across the State.

“Plateau State needs a radical Leader with the political will to confront insecurity and a sound economic mindset to industrialise it.
“We Will Wage War Against Criminality”
Kyarkshik declared.

He promised that an APM administration would make security a top priority and pursue a more aggressive strategy against bandits, kidnappers and other criminal networks that, according to him, have damaged the State’s reputation and undermined economic activities.

The APM candidate also placed strong emphasis on the State’s mineral resources, arguing that their effective exploitation could provide the foundation for industrialisation and economic transformation.

He specifically cited the abundance of lead deposits in parts of Plateau and disclosed that his administration would explore the establishment of a car-battery manufacturing company, leveraging the State’s mineral resources to create value locally rather than merely exporting raw materials.

Kyarkshik said his proposed economic master plan is designed to stimulate investment, create employment and improve the financial and economic stability of citizens.

He maintained that Plateau possesses the resources and human capital required to build a stronger economy, but that the challenge lies in developing a deliberate policy framework capable of converting those potentials into tangible benefits for the people.

With the “Take Back Your Destiny 2027” campaign, the APM candidate said his objective is to build a grassroots-driven political movement and present what he described as a new economic and security direction for Plateau State.
