Plateau APC  Chairmanship appeal panel confirms Latep Dabang  as authentic winner of  state  congress

The All Progressive Congress  APC  Appeal committee Panel  of Saturday 19th May, 2018  APC state congress of Plateau state on Wednesday declared Hon Letep Dabang  as the authentic winner of the state  party chairmanship  election .

Chairman of the APC  appeal panel for the state chairmanship Congress  Hon Hon Babatunde  Monday said the only  petitioner Mr Johnson Podar,s petition failed  because he is not a registered member of the APC  in his ward ..

It could be recalled that Podar had vied for the chairman alongside Letep but was ultimately disqualified because he failed to fulfill the requirement of membership in the party.

Babatunde said” Podar’s name was not found in the ward register were he hail from, and the ward chairman including the Local Government Chairman denied his membership.

Babatunde  further said we spoke with him and we advised him to work for the interest of the party ,the constitution of our party clearly states that you must be a registered member of the party in your  ward if you want to contest any position ,so we are advising him to go and register in his ward .

Podar in a swift reaction told  newsmen in Jos on Wednesday that he is petitioning the National body of the party .

Latep Dabang who also spoke to newsmen  said the outcome of the committee sitting  is the beauty of democracy ,

I am appealing to him (Podar ) to follow the necessary guidelines to join the APC .

We are a party interested in getting members and I am appealing to party members to join hand with me in moving the party forward
