The Plateau State Branch of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has raised the bar in professional excellence with 40 new Fellows out of the 647 newly inducted Fellows nationwide, following the approval of their Fellowship applications at the national level.
The development was announced with delight by the Branch Chairman, Dr. Anthony Musa Garba, during the Branch’s Monthly Congress Meeting held on Saturday at the Yakubu Gowon Auditorium, Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Headquarters, Jos.
Dr. Garba disclosed that a total of 56 members of the Plateau Branch applied for Fellowship, with 40 successfully approved and subsequently inducted at the just-concluded 31st Annual National Conference of ANAN held at Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, FCT from 8th to 10th September 2026.
The feat, he noted, represents a significant milestone for the Plateau Branch and further demonstrates the growing commitment of its members to professional advancement, excellence and the advancement of the accounting profession.
The Chairman commended members for their impressive turnout and active participation at the Annual Conference, urging them to sustain the spirit of engagement and collective commitment to the growth of the Association.
He particularly charged the newly elevated Fellows to recognise that the prestigious Fellowship comes with greater responsibility, higher expectations and a stronger obligation to add value to their organisations, the profession and the Nigerian society.
In a related development, the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Dr. Hafiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence by the Plateau State Branch of ANAN for his contributions to professional development, capacity building and national development.
Represented by the Director of Finance and Accounts, Alh. Mohammed Alhassan Ahmad, the ITF helmsman expressed appreciation to the Plateau ANAN Branch for the recognition.
He said the award would serve as an additional motivation to pursue greater excellence and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Presenting the award, Elder Mallo Makut commended the ITF for its deliberate investment in human capital development and its sustained contributions to the growth of the accounting profession and ANAN at various levels.
The Congress also witnessed the presentation of plaques of honour to selected ANAN members in the ITF in recognition of their exceptional services to the organisation and their contributions to the growth and development of the Plateau State Branch.
Dr. Garba described the Honourees as outstanding Contributors whose tenure and service had been characterised by significant accomplishments.
“Their era has been marked by remarkable achievements,” the Branch Chairman declared.
The Monthly Congress further featured the formal absorption of newly inducted members into the Plateau State Branch, alongside the celebration of members whose birthdays fall in the month of September.
The event brought together professionals from across the Branch and further reinforced ANAN Plateau’s commitment to professional excellence, ethical leadership, continuous capacity development and service to society.
