Other Recipients of the Award of Excellence included former Member representing Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency, Hon. Beni Lar; former Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Arlat Dashe; Executive Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Audu Manship; Member representing Shendam Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. The awards were presented during the Association’s June 2026 Monthly Congress Meeting held at the Yakubu Gowon Hall of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Headquarters in Jos.

Receiving the posthumous award on behalf of the late elder statesman, former Minister of Aviation, Elder Samuel Mafuyai, described Chief Lar as a selfless leader whose modest lifestyle, commitment to service, and passion for humanity left a lasting legacy on society. He said Late Chief Solomon Lar was indisputably an ‘Emancipator’ as he was fondly referred to and remembered by many.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Beni Lar and Hon. John Dayong expressed gratitude to ANAN for the recognition, describing the award as a motivation to continue contributing to the growth and development of society. They also commended the Association for its vital role in strengthening Nigeria’s financial system and economic development.

Earlier, the Chairman of ANAN Plateau State Branch, Mr. Anthony Musa Garba, FCNA said the award recipients were carefully selected based on their track records, contributions to education, and positive impact on society.

According to him, the honours reflect the recipients’ commitment to service, leadership, and development, noting that their contributions have added immense value to Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

Anthony also appreciated members of the Association for their unwavering support since the current executive assumed office. He assured members that capacity building through quarterly seminars and other professional development programmes would remain a top priority.

The chairman further pledged to improve members’ welfare and encouraged them to pay greater attention to their health and well-being, noting that activities such as aerobics and other wellness initiatives had already been introduced to promote healthy living among members.

He urged members to continue adding value in their various workplaces and remain worthy Ambassadors of the Association.

The congress also witnessed the constitution of new standing committees, while reports from existing committees were presented and deliberated upon.

The event featured colourful cultural performances by a troupe from Plateau South, which entertained participants and added glamour to the gathering.

The June 2026 Congress was hosted by ANAN Plateau State Branch Members from Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone and the North-Central region, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
