The Action Democratic Party (ADP), Plateau State chapter has substituted its governorship candidate for the 2019 general election. The substitute according to the party is to present a flag bearer with a security pedigree aimed at tackling the insecurity problem faced by the State.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Danjuma Auta, and a copy made available to our correspondent, explained that the replacement was borne out of the collective resolve by the party caucus after wide consultation and strategic realignment.
Mr Auta stated that Pastor Margret Inusa who was the former party flag bearer has also accepted to step down without any form of bitterness or rancor, adding that Brig. Gen. Jonathan Temlong who is the new party flag bearer has since thanked Pastor Inusa for her magnanimity. The statement reads in part: “In the build up to the 2019 General election, Brig. Gen. Jonathan Temlong (Rtd.) has emerged as the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP in Plateau state.
“Temlong, who was was officially unveiled as the ADP standard bearer at the State party secretariat in Jos on Monday by the National Welfare Secretary and leader of the party in Plateau state, Hon. Samuel Gyang before the State Working Committee, replaced the former candidate, Pastor Margret Inusa”.
