The Department of Mass Communication, Plateau State University, Bokkos in collaboration with its counterpart at the Kola Daisi University, Ibadan hosted the first “Ask Me” Series, a Mentor/Mentee Session webinar initiative of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).
The event which was held on Monday, June 24, 2024 had the current Managing Partner of KraveX Ltd – a technology solutions and consulting business, Mrs. Terae Onyeje as the Guest Mentor. The Guest delved into the realm of AI tools and technology, focusing on how they can be harnessed for entrepreneurial purposes.
During the interactive session, the Head of Department of Mass Communication, Plateau State University, Bokkos. Dr. Adeyanju Apejoye expressed concern over the hash economic situation in the country which could affect students’ ability to subscribe to some of the AI tools and technology to advance their entrepreneurial capacity.
Apejoye appealed to governmental and non governmental organizations as well as public spirited individuals to provide special interventions to students to enable them become well-versed in these technologies that are already reshaping the media and communication landscape.
Participants which included communication professionals, lecturers and students at the event seized the opportunity to ask succinct questions and make positive contributions in line with the overarching theme of the session, which is Technology and Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Communication.
This collaborative and innovative engagement with local realities exemplify ACSPN’s commitment to facilitating experiential learning solutions as well as amplifying the dialogue surrounding the evolving intersections of communication, technology and entrepreneurship.
The “Ask Me” series remains a beacon of knowledge-sharing and capacity-building within Nigeria’s communication landscape, fostering a dynamic network where mentorship, collaboration and innovation converge to drive sustainable progress and growth.
