PLABOMA Unveils Unified Bloggers Website to Boost Digital Journalism

The Plateau Bloggers and Online Media Association (PLABOMA) has unveiled its Unified Bloggers Website, a first-of-its-kind digital platform designed to connect over 30 active bloggers, foster collaboration and enhance the visibility of digital journalism in Plateau State.
The website was officially launched during the Association’s 2026 World Social Media Day celebration held at Usiju World Event Centre in Jos, the Plateau State capital on 30th June, 2026.

The event attracted stakeholders, media professionals, content creators, and Mass Communication students from the University of Jos and Plateau State Polytechnic.
Speaking at the event, several dignitaries commended PLABOMA for its outstanding contributions to promoting responsible digital communication, peacebuilding and the growth of the online media ecosystem in Plateau State and beyond.

Among those who delivered goodwill messages were Member of the PLABOMA Board of Trustees, Da Yakubu Taddy; the Director General of the Plateau State Peace Building Agency, Dr. Julie Sanda, represented by the Agency’s Head of Strategic Communications, Kenneth Dakop; the Executive Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. Jim Wayas; the Chairman of the Plateau Youth Council, Panam Dapar; the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, represented by the Media Information Officer, Captain Chinonso Oteh; the Project Manager of Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT), Mrs. Kizito Ndak; the Director of Press and Public Relations to the Governor of Plateau State, Dr. Gyang Bere; the Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, Mrs. Ayuku Pwaspo; and the Director General of the Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA), Hon. Bomkam Ali Wuyep.

The speakers described PLABOMA as a strategic partner in shaping the social media landscape through credible information dissemination, responsible content creation and the promotion of peace, unity and sustainable development. They urged members of the Association to sustain the momentum by upholding professionalism, ethical journalism and innovation in the digital space.

A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals and stakeholders in recognition of their effective use of social media to promote public engagement, inspire innovation and drive development through responsible digital communication.

The event, themed “Digital Voices: Innovation, Creativity and Youth Engagement,” featured a keynote lecture by the Plateau State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), who spoke on the central theme. Other presentations were delivered by Ibrahim Kallamu on “The Power of Digital Media: Evolution of Social Media,” and Sunday Agbaji, popularly known as “Hilarious Sunnie,” who shared his personal journey and highlighted the transformative impact of digital media.
Participants also took part in interactive sessions, networking opportunities and entertainment, gaining valuable insights into emerging trends in digital media, content creation and online engagement.

In his welcome address, PLABOMA Chairman, Matthew Tegha, said the celebration reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to strengthening the digital media landscape in Plateau State through collaboration among bloggers, increased youth participation and the effective use of technology for sustainable development.
He noted that the unveiling of the Unified Bloggers Website marked a significant milestone in the Association’s efforts to strengthen cooperation among Bloggers and position Plateau State as a leading hub for responsible and innovative digital journalism.
