The Plateau Initiative for Development and Advancement of the Natives (PIDAN) yesterday tasked all community leaders and development associations in the state to initiate dialogues aimed at ensuring peaceful elections next month.
Addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Jos, president of PIDAN Aboki Madaki said the organization was committed to violence-free elections and urged the electorate to vote according to their conscience.
The group observed that political happenings in the state have not provided the desired platform for equity and justice, adding that “we are witnesses to a glaring situation where a section of a tribe is fighting for dominance both politically and socially to the detriment of others.”
