In its effort to promote social cohesion and integration, the September edition of the “Plateau Youths Catch-Up” was held in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire (136km North of London).
The meeting which was hosted by Mercy Ibi Ochepa and Longret Kwardem, witnessed a great turn-out, with youths travelling from all across the UK –including Birmingham, Manchester, Huddersfield, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Essex and London.
The event kicked off in the early hours of the evening with a message from the President of the Plateau State Association, Mrs Josephine Ibrahim –delivered on her behalf by the Vice President, Mr. Elijah Sambo.
Also during the meeting, a short presentation of a new charity for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Jos was delivered by Miss Miss Noro Pwol –the pioneer of the initiative. She described the scope of the project, its aims, achievements to date and how Plateau Youths can get involved in the project.
As the night went on, great connections and networks were established in what is turning out to be a truly epic avenue for Plateau minds in the UK to connect, exchange ideas and have a general tete-a-tete.
