FOUNDATION LAYING PERFORMED BY COMMISSIONER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND CHIFTAINCY AFFAIRS HON. SYLVANUS TAPGUN

The honourable member representing the people of Mangu South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, and standing House Committee chairman on Public Account and Petitions, Hon. Dr. Bala N. Fwangje yesterday 25 July 2020 visited the palace of the village head of Bungha of Mangu District in Mangu LGA, HRH Da Danladi Den’an on a courtesy visit and a foundation laying of a new palace in the village which was performed by the Plateau State Honourable Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sylvanus Tapgun.

According to Hon. Fwangje, “our traditional institutions must be developed and stregnthened for effective performance of governance at the grass root level because they play a vital role in governance. And in additional remarks, he pledge his committment towards ensuring that the people of Bungha and Mangu South Constitituency at large experience the dividends of democracy.


The village head Bungha in his remarks appreciated Hon. Bala Fwangje for the project he is embarking on pledging his full support and that of the community to do everything possible within their power to ensure that the project become a success.

Hon. Sylvanus Tapgun louds the performance and focus of Hon. Bala N. Fwangje, and pleads with the people of Mangu LGA to give support to the Government at all level. He assured the community that His Excellency gov. Simon Bako Lalong have the interest of the people at heart and will do the needful when the right time comes for Bungha village to be elevated to a district but for the mean time they should exercise more patience and be law abiding as usual while praying for their leaders.

The Bungha people appreciated Hon. Bala N. Fwangje, but pleads, requesting the Governor, H.E. Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to elevate the royal stool of Bungha village from village head to district since it is due for that, created since 1981. There was reading of the history of Bungha and after which it was handed over to the commissioner for reference purposes.
