Pharm. Chun John “CJ” Honoured as National Philanthropist of the Year by Plateau Students

In order to recognize, appreciate and celebrate humanitarian gestures of individuals, the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS) National Body has presented an award of excellence to Pharmacist Chun John fondly called “CJ” as a National Philanthropist of the Year.

While presenting the Award to the Recipient NAPSS National President, Cmr. David Dung disclosed that the Awardee was carefully selected on account of his humanitarian services to people and for always identifying with Students when they have moral and financial challenges.

They called on him not to relent in mentoring the youths and building their capacities as he has made a priority to him.

In his remarks, the Award Recipient, Pharm. Chun John who was represented by Hon. Joshua Pam appreciated the Students for finding him worthy of the award.
He posited that the award will spur him to do more and continue to contribute to human and societal development in the best way he can.

He charged the students to discard tendencies and lifestyles that are inimical to their progress and take their studies seriously.

He further stressed the need for the Students to develop themselves and acquire the needed skills to be useful to themselves and the society.
He urged them not to allow themselves to be used for wrong reasons by selfish persons but remain positive despite the numerous challenges confronting the National and contribute their quota to National unity, prosperity and development.
He called on government a all levels, the political class, Nongovernmental organizations and spirited individuals to give greater attention to youth empowerment by making sure that their policies, programmes and activities capture the youths.

“You are people with great talents and gifts that must be harnessed for the socioeconomic wellbeing of the Nation”

“Consider your unionism as an incubation ground for qualitative leadership in the nearest future. As you strive to shun temptation of vices, like drugs, prostitution, cultism etc. In all your unionism, make sure your education is your priority and you are disciplined to prosecute it with flying colours”

The event which held at Retna Suites Jos South LGA was well attended and featured cultural displays, others.
