Members of Peace and Progressive Friends Association (PPFA) have elected new Executive Council Members to pilot the fairs of their Association for the next two years.

Michael Dem, who was elected as the Public Relations Officer of the Association made this disclosure to viewpoint in Jos on Tuesday, saying that Comrade Pam Kenneth Kataico, a seasoned accountant and youth activist, was returned elected as the Executive Chairman after securing majority of the total valid votes cast during the election which was keenly contested.
Other members returned elected were Sanjo Ayiola as Vice Chairman, Dusu Daniel as Secretary General, Bot Bitrus as Assistant Secretary General. Others included Comrade Wakat Lagan as Financial Secretary, Comrade Pankyes Bishtu as Treasurer and Comrade Yusuf Shut as Ex-Officio.
Over 60 delegates attended and voted in the elections which were conducted by an Electoral Committee headed by Comrade Moses Jerome.

The new officials were immediately administered oath of office and inaugurated by Mordecai Chup Alex, a Jos-based lawyer.

Speaking after the inauguration, the newly elected Chairman of the Association, Cmr. Kataico who was the Vice Chairman of the Association and a staff of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said the new leadership was poised to ensuring a new drive for members of the Association to enjoy better welfare.
He added that the new Executive will assiduously pursue the ideals for which the association is known for as he pledged to run an administration whose door will be opened to all members.
Kataiko charged members of the Association to display the requisite discipline and commitment to the Associations activities, stressing that the new Executive cannot succeed without the cooperation of members of the Association.

Peace and Progressive Friends Association is a Community-Based Organization founded in 2016 with the intention of partnering with Governments and other Corporate Organizations in the area of youths development and community security. It has a membership size of over 1200.
