The National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has withdrawn the earlier letter written to the Hon. Amos Gombi in which he was directed to take charge of the Plateau State Chapter of the Party in acting Capacity.
The National Secretary of the party, Sen. Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, CON said he quoted a wrong section of the party’s constitution in the letter he wrote on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) dated 13th December, 2019.
He said to avoid any misrepresentation and interpretation, the legal department of PDP advised the immediate withdrawal of the letter on behalf of the NWC and to issue another one with the correct Section of the Constitution quoted.
In the same vein, the National Secretary on 19th December, 2019 has written Hon. Amos Gombi to take over as Chairman of the PDP in Plateau State in acting capacity following the resignation of Mr. Damishi Sango.
The National Secretary mandated him to liaise with the State Working Committee, especially the State Organizing Secretary, to cement all areas of conflicts and challenges.
The National Secretary also directed in quote “You are to act from the period Mr. Damishi Sango hands over to you until a New Chairman is elected from Mr. Sango’s Zone who will complete the remainder of his tenure” the letter concluded.
