The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to regain Plateau State from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections starting with the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South Constituency bye-elections slated for Saturday 26th February, 2022.
National Chairman of the Party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu Ph.D made this known when he led the National Executives and Board of Trustees of the Party to the Party’s Mega Campaign Rally which held at Polo Field Jos, Plateau State.
He described the ruling Party, APC as clueless, confused and lacking in ideas to grow the Country.
He said the APC-led administration has brought untold hardship and ruin the Country.
He urged Plateau State Citizens from Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South Constituency to vote massively for the PDP during the forthcoming bye-election.
The Board of Trustees Chairman of PDP, Sen. Walid Jibrin disclosed that PDP is the party to beat in future elections as it is conversant with governance and democracy.
PDP National Youth Leader, Mohammed Kadade Suleiman called on Nigerians especially the Youths to use their numerical strength positively to vote PDP in order to do away with the APC that has nothing to offer and has subjected Nigerians to abject poverty.
In his remark, the PDP Chairman in Plateau State Hon. Chris Hassan said the ruling Party has destroyed the good legacies handed over to it by the PDP.
He called on Nigerians to reject the APC that has been unable to provide them with credible leadership.
The immediate past Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah Jang urged Members of the party to be more united and ensure they send APC parking at future polls.
PDP Governorship Candidate in the 2019 General Election in Plateau State, Sen. Gen. Jeremiah Useni (Rtd) said the party will work towards regaining power and called on Members to sheath their swords for the progress of the party.
Over 23,000 Decampees including the former Chairman of APC, Chief Latep Dabang, Hon. Isaac Kwallu, Hon. Henry Yunkwap and Prince Mado were received into the PDP by the National Chairman.
In his speech, Chief Latep Dabang asked the people of Plateau State to forgive them for bringing APC to the State which he described as “calamity” to the State and Nation.
He said they will join hands to get rid of the APC in order for good governance to be entrenched in the State and Nation.
The event featured the presentation of Party flags to the PDP Candidates, Hon. Musa Agah and Hon. Peter Dasat for the Jos North/Bassa and Pankshin South Bye-election respectively.
There were goodwill messages from the former Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Amb. Fidelis Tapgun and Hon. Theophilus Dakas the PDP Vice Chairman North Central Zone.
