The Pankshin local government legislative arm has passed the 2019 appropriation bill of over N3,974,000,000 into law.

The passage followed a report by the house standing committee on appropriation presented during plenary by its Chairman and Councillor representing Wuchembe ward Hon Obadiah Gopep. According to him, his committee in conjunction with other standing committees of the house, invited all the departments who defended their proposals before the passage.

Gopep pointed out that a budget size of 3,854, 656,414=22kobo was presented to the house by the Executive Chairman of the Council , Hon John Damap , but after due scrutiny, the Committee recommended over 3 Billion 974Million naira which is a difference of 119Million 700 thousand naira originally presented to the house as the total budget size.

The Capital expenditure stands at 1,082,028,134 .95 while Recurrent Expenditure was allotted over 2,892, 136, 279.27.

Responding, the Leader of the legislative arm, Hon Tanat Shamshi commended the Committee for its report. When the leader puts it to vote, the lawmakers voted for adoption of the report without objection .

The Leader having considered the recommendation of the committee on appropriation says the sum of 3,974, 356, 414 Billion is hereby officially approved and passed into law as the 2019 appropriation bill. He then directed the Clerk of the house, Enoch Sylvester to send a clean copy of the passed budget to the Executive Chairman of the Council for assent.
