“Our Entire Pilgrimage Exercise is Hinged on Faith” – NCPC Boss, Rev. Pam


The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has said that the entire pilgrimage exercise of the Commission is hinged on Faith.
He made this assertion on 11th August, 2023 during the send forth ceremony of Mr Daniel Akwaya, the retiring Head Driver , a Superintendent of Works who retired from the service of the Commission, having attained the mandatory 60 years in service as entrenched in the Public Service Rules.
According to the NCPC boss, ” we have been tested with challenges, but without faith the Commission cannot move forward”.
He further averred that “the good days of NCPC is ahead “.


Rev. Pam explained that he assumed office in 2020 at a time the Commission was at its lowest ebb, but by dint of had work, coupled with the divine grace of God he was able to uplift the Commission to its present state .
He affirmed that the Commission must be raised to the standard above its challenges.
He thanked Mr Akwaya for putting in his best for the Commission. According to him, “the former Head Driver is always very straight forward in all his dealings”, stating that all of us are human beings that possess gifts and talents but we must bring our gifts and talents into action” .
He affirmed that Mr Akwaya served the Commission with all his heart and mind , stating that he is an example of a good character”.


He admonished him to engage himself in productive ventures so that his post -service life will be worthwhile.
Earlier in his remarks,the Director of Administration, Barr.Sonny Ebiyaibo stated that “today we are happy that our former Head Driver started well and ended well”.
He added,” we are here to celebrate his hardwork, his tenacity of purpose , his obedience and loyalty to the Commission “.
Also in his remarks, the Director of Operations, Mr Abu Okpanachi extolled the virtues of the former Head Driver of the Commission for his diligence and commitment to duty.
His words,” one thing I know him for is his absolute loyalty to the Commission “.
He wished him well in his new journey of life.


In his remarks, the celebrant described NCPC as a learning ground for all the staff who are willing to make meaning out of life , stating that he had learnt a lot in the Commission, having served three Executive Secretaries in the course of his career.
He expressed his gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve his fatherland in the capacity he provided for him.
The highlight of the sendforth event was the cutting of retirement cake by the celebrant, flanked by the Executive Secretary and the Directors.
