Opinion: How Can We Change Our Story? The Role Of The Youths – By Longji Friday Dagwa

As the quest for meaningful change continues to linger in the minds of the youths, it seems the time has fully come for the sun to shine as it rays burn the powers that bedevil us in our society. Among us are acclaimed leaders in the name of councilors, chairmen, senators, Governors and other representatives filled with the greed of human and natural resources, yet having an untiring quest to amass more.

The race for 2019 had since begun and statistically these tired brains are on it again.
Nevertheless, the emancipation of youths presently will bring about a redirection in both thoughts and actions to the long lingering dynasty held by these tired brains. The Youths of today now understand the ploys at hand and are taking advantage of it to do the right things that will demonstrate sustainability of imagination that will in the long run, provide fiscal and human development, robust our economy and create massive employment opportunities starting from the grassroots.

Now I ask; how much better will the future be without the youth demonstrating service, selflessness and togetherness?

Globally, the prowess of youths in various political scenes have proven without doubts outstanding. As youths, we need to rise and do the working-talking project of occupying our rightful place and restoring our glory on the map of the world as predicted to happen in the year 2030 by using our votes, our strength and voice to this plight. Let’s fit in the square pegs in the hole and the round pegs in the hole where they belong.

Let us exonerate ourselves starting from the grassroots as the extension follows in our political scene with the majority positions occupied by the youths. Action they say speaks louder than voice but with the two put together, the grassroots will have their rightful place and fair share among the pool of TSA(treasury single account) and spur them to realizing full life potentials in term of equality, fairness and justice.

As youths we have the strength, the voice and the vision that can be accompanied by our massive votes, defended by our unity, achieved by maintaining peace in all domains.
The prayers and struggles of our fore fathers can only be achieved through youth collective action. Nigeria as a country has been sailed by leaders who enjoyed power when they were youths and today they still are in charge.
There is a need for us to rise up and face the challenges ahead us.
Thank you all.
