On this day in 1970, a Nigerian Politician who is a former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Istifanus Caleb Mwansat, was born in Jos, Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria.
He started his education at Saint Michael’s RCM Primary School, Jos-Jarawa in 1980.
He later attended Government Secondary School Shendam and Pankshin respectively and passed out in 1988.
He had his BSc. In Business Administration in2002 and Masters in the same discipline in 2004.
He is currently pursuing a second Masters degree in Research and Public Policy.
Before venturing into Politics Hon. Mwansat had worked with Plateau Publishing Company, Directorate of National Civic Registration, Katsina, Popsy International Nigeria Limited, Double Vision Ideal Links and Jiblinks Mines.
He was elected into the 5th Plateau State House of Assembly in 2006 and later became Chairman of House Committee on LG and CA.
He was a member of four other Committees, Committee on Works and Transport, Committee on Water resources, Committee on Education and Committee on Parastatals.
He was also Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee on Peace and Security on the 2008 Jos North local government election crisis.
He also managed several other committees in the 7th and 8th Assembly and made remarkable progress during these times.
Hon. Istifanus Caleb Mwansat turns 47 today.
