A Community Leader in Hukke village of Bassa Local Government, Plateau state, Mr. Mangwa Monday was killed today Monday 23th July, 2018 in an attack around 1:30pm by Killer Herdsmen.

Mr. Lawrence Zongo, the Spokesperson of Miango Youth Development Association made known to Viewpoint Nigeria that Mr. Mangwa was shot by the Killers and later gave up the ghost at Enos Hospital Miango in Bassa LGA after two hours of the attack.

Viewpoint Nigeria reliably gathered from the Miango Youth Spokesperson that the deceased was shot right in the presence of the police personnel who took to their heels without arresting the killers. He said the farm of the deceased was being mowed by cattle belonging to the killers and the case was reported to the police who went to the farmland to inspect the damage from where the deceased was shot.

Mr. Zongo said his people are frequently being killed without any arrest for prosecution and the killings have brought humanitarian crisis in the area.

He called on government to come to their aid to address the continuous killings.

He said series of gorilla and ambush attacks keep reoccurring without any form of arrest while their farm produce are being destroyed by the Herdsmen who openly graze on their farmlands.

He called on amnesty international to look into the ethnic cleansing going on in their domain holistically.

Mr. Mangwa Monday is 57 years old and left behind 10 children and many grandchildren.

He has since been buried.

At the time of filing this report, no arrest has been made and the police are yet to confirm the attack and killing.
