The Ogun State Police Command, on Tuesday, arraigned a 35-year-old man, identified simply as Kehinde, before an Ota Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping a physically challenged girl.
The police prosecutor, Inspector E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that Kehinde, who lives at Abule-Isale, Ilogbo Road, Ota, was facing one count of rape.
Adaraloye added that the defendant committed the offence at his residence on February 12, 2020, around 10.30pm.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 360, of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The magistrate, Mrs A. O. Adeyemi, admitted him to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adeyemi also ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case till June 19, 2020, for trial.
