Correspondents’ Chapel NUJ Plateau State hold Inaugural Lecture/Fund raising
The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council will hold its Inaugural Lecture and Fund raising for the purchase of a vehicle tomorrow Thursday 5 November, 2020 at the Jos Business School, Rayfield by 10am prompt.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman, Gyang Bere said His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau state Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong would served as the Special Guest of Honour while Hon. Manji Gontori will be the Chairman of the occasion.
Meanwhile, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idiris Wase, the Deputy Speaker of the House Representatives and Retired Gen. Jeremiah Useni would serve as distinguished guest of honour and guest of honour, respectively.
The inaugural lecture titled, “Insecurity and the Quest for Lasting Peace in Nigeria: The Role of the Media”, would be delivered by Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Member representing Pankshin Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Navy.
The statement said Amb. Chris Giwa will serve as the Chief Launcher while Senator representing Plateau North, Istifanus Gyang, the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam, member representing Shendam, Quan-Pan, Mikang in the House of Representatives, Hon. Alphonsus Komsol and member representing Langtang North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Beni Lar are among the top dignitaries for the occasion.
Among other dignitaries includes Dr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwada, ALGON Chairman, Plateau State, Hon. Ezekiel Vulgap would lead the 17 Local Government Chairmen in the state to the event, while His Majesty, Da. Dr. Gyang Buba will serve as the Royal father of the day.
Bere said all the Covid-19 safety protocols will be strictly adhered at the venue.
