Northern CAN chairman appointed Plateau chairman Christian welfare board

Northern Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria Rev Yakubu Pam has been appointed and inaugurated as Chairman of Plateau Christian welfare board along side Muslim welfare Board.
Similarly, Barr. Auwal Abdullahi is to serve as Executive Secretary Muslim welfare Board and Rev. George Gorap, as its Executive Secretary Christian welfare board.
While inaugurating the two religious welfare board at Governor House in Jos on Wednesday, secretary to the state government Rufus Bature urged the board members to live up to expectation in the discharge of their duties to justify why Governor Lalong administration brought them on board.
He said members of the board are to serve as part time members while the chairmen and executive secretaries are saddled with the running of the activities of the board .
According to Bature, the decision by Governor, Simon Lalong, to spelt out the duties of each sectors of Governance and, “is to avoid the repeat of past mistakes, where members will go to seat in the boards.”
Bature, tasked the Executive Secretaries, chairmen and members of the pilgrims boards to work towards successful conduct of the religious obligations.
He said good performances and selfless service, driven by transparency and accountability are what the Governor and people of the state are expecting from them.
Responding on behalf of the inaugurated two religious welfare boards in the state, the Chairman of the state Christian welfare board, Rev Yakubu Pam assured Governor Lalong that they were not going to disappoint the state government as they were going to hit the ground running immediately.
Rev Pam commended the state governor, Simon Lalong for running an all inclusive government going the appointments made that cut across all the 17 local government councils in the state which were carefully done to give all a sense of belonging in the scheme of things in the state.
