BREAKING NEWS:
DM Long’gul reports from Jos.
Hundreds of women members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State staged a powerful and symbolic protest today, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, to publicly reject Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s alleged political moves toward the party. The rally, held under the Secretariat Junction Bridge in Jos, delivered a clear message to the sitting People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governor: “Respect our NO.”
Decked in their APC colours and chanting songs of solidarity, the women likened the APC to a woman with dignity, insisting that the party would not accept someone they believe has consistently worked to undermine its structures and members.
Their Core Message is “If a woman says no, you respect her choice, not force yourself on her.” They demand Governor Mutfwang cease his “unwelcome political advances” toward the APC.
In a similar analogy, Several women leaders emphasized that the APC is “not a political safe house for leaders seeking refuge after burning bridges in their own party.” They argued that his renewed attempts to ingratiate himself disrespect the party and its women, who are core grassroots mobilisers.
A coordinator at the event was quoted saying: “You cannot try to destroy your own home and then come running to ours. When a woman says NO, you leave her alone. Governor Mutfwang should stop forcing himself on the APC. We are not desperate, and Plateau women will stand their ground.”
To place a Political Context, the protest takes place amidst persistent rumours regarding Governor Mutfwang’s potential move from the PDP to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections. But the Plateau APC have since rejected the move in the state.

The placards visible at the rally included inscriptions like “Vindictive Mutfwang No Room in APC” and “Respect Our NO.”
This peaceful but politically charged demonstration signals a deep-rooted resistance to the Governor’s potential defection, extending beyond the party leadership and down to the grassroots.

Observers note that the message is decisive: the Plateau APC is determined to control its internal boundaries and protect its identity from individuals attempting to enter through what members describe as “the back door.” As the 2027 political calculations intensify, the vocal stand by the Plateau APC women highlights a growing internal battle over who controls the party’s future.
