Speech By;
Dr. Innocent Emmanuel, MBBS, MPA, FMCPath, FWACP.
Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association,
Plateau State Branch.

Dear revered members.

A month ago (07/11/2020), the State Officers Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association Plateau State Branch celebrated her first 100 days in office in elegance with a run-down of great achievements. In addition to the fact that these achievements are in the most part ground-breaking and deliberately directed towards advancing the welfare of our members, they are born out of a sustained and honest desire to improve the fortune of doctors on the Plateau.

Today, we are glad to yet again bring to your notice the introduction of an end of year package for every member of our great association on the Plateau. This gesture will be an annual event by the Special grace of God. With each passing year remarkable improvement in this package is expected. We have perfected the distribution chain through representatives of affiliates or Departments as the case might be to ensure that no one is left behind. The item presented is by no measure a parallel of the great support we have enjoyed from you, our highly esteemed members, but a show of gratitude to the very base from which we draw our strength.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to every doctor who wakes up early in the morning, working tirelessly through the day and night across the length and breath of the State; engaging patients in the community, emergency units, clinics, wards, laboratories and theatres; striving with all seriousness of purpose to abide by the Physicians’ Oath as we save and sustain lives, in spite of the glaring suboptimal realities.

Today, we reaffirm our commitment to serving you better; outwitting any obstacle and distraction to remain focused until we accomplish all that we set to do for a greater NMA that you will all be proud of.

Special thanks to the NMA President Prof. Innocent Achanya Otobo Ujah, medical Elders, Past Chairmen, Past Secretaries, Past SOC members, Head of Affiliates and indeed all members of NMA, Plateau State. As the year comes to a close and we bid farewell to 2020, we wish you a hitch free December, a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Long Live NMA Plateau State,
Long Live NMA,
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
May we all live long.
