With the initiation of the 9th Batch Pilgrimage in Jordan, Nigerian pilgrims have been encouraged to reevaluate their objectives and purpose during the exercise, ensuring that their participation embodies the true spirit of the pilgrimage. This guidance was offered by Servants of God who led the pilgrims in regular prayers, seeking divine guidance to infuse the exercise with spiritual significance and to intercede on behalf of Nigeria.

Reverend Father Joseph Gandu Priest Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna and Director Radio Maria 90.1 FM Kaduna, in a brief yet insightful message during the Morning Prayers session held at the Grand Palace Hotel Lounge Amman the Capital City of the Kingdom of Jordan on Friday, 28th February 2025, urged Christians to establish faithful marriages and homes that are honorable and in line with biblical principles. He emphasized that God’s intention is for Christian marriages to thrive, and for couples to achieve fulfillment.

Additionally, he stressed that God’s design for marriage is for a man and a woman to become one, achieving His purpose for the institution.

Ven. Andrus Ukaejiofo of the Anglican Communion, Diocese of Abuja, stressed the importance of divine encounter with God during the ongoing Pilgrimage, noting its potential to bring about a change in attitudes considered unpleasant to God. According to him, the primary objective of the exercise would be defeated without an encounter with God. He urged the Pilgrims to make the exercise a spiritual one.

In his remarks, Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Nortey, Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Lagos Central, encouraged the Pilgrims to seek divine encounter that would spark transformation, and appealed to them to take the exercise seriously by intensifying prayers for the unity, peace, and prosperity of Nigeria.

On the first day of the exercise, pilgrims toured the Palace of King Herod the Great in Madaba, the Mosaic and Ceramics Workshop, and Mount Nebo, all situated in the Kingdom of Jordan.

Their Tour Guides provided them with crucial insights into the importance of various ancient monuments and historical occurrences.Pilgrims were intensely focused on praying for themselves and Nigeria.
