Hon (Dr) Simon Mwadkwon Salutes Nigeria at 59.
I Dr Simon Mwadkwon, on behalf of my family and the constituents of Barkin-Ladi Riyom Federal Constituency, wishes all Nigerians a Happy 59th independence day celebration.
As we commemorate this historic day, we remember our fallen patriots who fought for Nigeria’s liberation from colonization.
We may have not attained the vision of our patriots, but am optimistic about Nigeria’s attainment of greatness in the nearest future.
Though the country has been enmeshed and ravaged by calamities ranging from bad governance, gross abuse of power and rule of law, corruption, insurgency, kidnapping, unpatriotic behaviors, reckless killings of innocent souls, I am still confident of a better Nigeria.
I salute Nigerians, particularly the good people of Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency for their resilience, tenacity and doggedness despite the oppressive Crisis situation we have suffered for over a decade.
I encourage you to be patriotic citizens, patriotism is not a badge that you should carry on your shoulder. We should carry it in our heart and let our actions speak for it. Let us therefore, Honor every patriot without whom freedom wouldn’t have existed.
Our myriad problems have threatened our corporate existence as an entity and a Nation but we won’t give up to the admiration of the enemies of our State.
I therefore bring a message of hope, that our communities, identity and dignity is assured of restoration.
In conclusion, I call on the governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Simon Bako Lalong to in the spirit of colonial freedom, immediately conduct the long awaited Local government elections in Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, Jos South and Jos North. If we have Territorial freedom, then we must have administrative freedom at the Local governments levels.
Signed
Hon Simon Mwadkwon, PhD
Member Representing Barkin Ladi /Riyom Federal Constituency NASS Abuja-Nigeria.
