Pilgrims participating in the 9th Batch Christian Pilgrimage Exercise have arrived Israel from the Kingdom of Jordan and have visited some Holy Sites.
Tour Guides were readily at hand to receive the Pilgrims who were in high spirit at the Israeli Border for the text phase of the Exercise at some Holy Sites in Israel.
The First site visited was the Mount Tabor popularly referred to as the “Mount of Transfiguration” located in the Lower Galilee region of northern Israel.
Mount Tabor is traditionally regarded as the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus, where Jesus took Peter, James, and John to pray and was transfigured before them, appearing with Moses and Elijah.
Pilgrims took time to offer personal and intercessory prayers for the Nation and Leaders.
They also had the privilege to tour the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth Town, Israel.
The Church of the Annunciation, situated in Nazareth, Israel, is a key Christian site, believed to be the location where the Angel Gabriel informed the Virgin Mary that she would bear Jesus, as narrated in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 1:26-38).
The church’s current structure, which was completed in 1969, was built over the remnants of earlier Byzantine and Crusader-era churches, boasting impressive mosaics and artwork that illustrate Mary’s life.
The Church of the Annunciation is a vital Christian site in the Holy Land, attracting a large number of pilgrims.
The Tour Guides also ensure that the Pilgrims were able to visit the Carpentry Workshop of Saint Joseph, the Father of Jesus Christ.
In all the Sites visited, Pilgrims offered personal prayers as well as intercessory prayers for the unity, peace and prosperity of Nigeria.
The Pilgrims are expected to continue with the visit of more Holy Sites in Israel.
So far the exercise which started 27th February, 2025 has been adjudged smooth and successful so far with their overall conduct said to be impressive.
