Nigerian Army Officers Conversion Exercise Kicks Off in Plateau State as GOC 3 Division Urge Candiates to be Good Ambassadors

The Conversion Board Nigeria Army Officers 2024 has commenced in Jos, the Plateau State Capital with a call on the Candidates to be good Ambassadors of the Nigerian Army through their exceptional conduct.
President of the 2024 Conversion Board, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army Rukuba Plateau State who doubles as the Commander Operation Safe Haven inform the over 528 Candidates that the future of the Nigerian Army is resting on their shoulders therefore they should ensure they uphold discipline, professionalism and integrity all the time.


The President of the 2024 Conversion Board and special Representative of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) while addressing the Candidates for the exercise at the opening ceremony which held at Crispan Suites and Event Centre Jos echoed that the conversion exercise is significant in the career progression of the Nigerian Army Officers of Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) especially those who are desirous to continue in the service of the Country after the particular service year provided for in the harmonized terms and conditions of service. He further stated that the Conversion Board is a periodic exercise by the Nigerian Army that avails qualified Candidates the opportunity to convert to regular Combatants and direct regular Combatants Commission.
He said the Candidates would undergo medical examination/test, physical efficiency test, aptitude test, weapon handling test and oral interview all in a bid to assess their performance and fitness. He said the Board will ensure fairness and equal treatment of all Candidates.


“I expect you to maintain the highest standards of regimentation, discipline, tolerance as well as carriage throughout the exercise. This Board has zero tolerance for cheating. The use of performance enhancing drugs or tampering with samples during medical examination is strictly prohibited” he averred.
According to him, sufficient logistic arrangements have been made to ensure their welfare needs are adequately met throughout the exercise. He cautioned them against untoward tendencies that will bring disrepute to the Nigerian Army.

He assured them that 3 Division has made the necessary arrangements to ensure that the overall objective of having the Conversion Board Comes to fruition.
