The headquarters of the 3 Division, Nigerian Army, said yesterday that Jos and Miango communities in Jos North and Bassa LGAs should expect large military presence and use of gunfire today and tomorrow because of a firearm training exercise scheduled in the two communities.
The army spokesman at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Rukuba, near Jos, said in a statement that there would be a range classification exercise to test the Federal Road Safety Corps personnel’s level of assimilation in instructional and practical lectures on weapon handling and also introduce them to live firing of ‘FN rifle and pistol’.
Colonel Texas Chukwu said the exercise was in continuation of the training assistance the army had been rendering the FRSC since its inception.
