His Royal Highness Dr Selky Kile Torughedi, the Eyewei the 5th of Azuzuama has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s 61st Independence Anniversary. He called on Nigerians at home and in diaspora to make efforts in protecting the unity and peace of Nigeria.

HRH Dr Selky made this known in his Independence Day message to Nigerians. According to HRH Dr Selky.

“Independence Day as we all know is an official National holiday set aside for celebration, for the proclamation of Independence from British rule on 1st October, 1960. Indeed I rejoice with my fellow Nigerians for our long standing coexistence as One indivisible country in Unity and Strength without Separatism. I therefore call on all and sundry agitating for one thing or the other to embrace peace”.

HRH Dr Selky noted that the journey so far has not be without challenges, noting that the sacrifices of good Nigerians, people of courage has kept the country going.

HRH Dr Selky lamented the deteriorating security situation in the country, noting that security agencies who are trying their best are overwhelmed by the enormity of the task hence all meaning Nigerians and the international community should assist the country in tackling this challenge.

HRH Dr Selky hailed Nigerian Youths for their resilience in the face of hardship, stressing that their labour in striving for a better Nigeria through nonviolent means will not go in vane.

HRH Dr Selky called on Nigerians regardless of differences to unite in confronting the many challenges that are affecting the entire country. The monarch stressed that it is only when Nigerians unite that meaningful solutions will be found, reiterating the strength that abides in Unity.

HRH Dr Selky implored all Nigerians to maintain the spirit and imbibe the culture of living as one United People. He Once again Congratulated to Nigeria at 61. He offered prayers that peace, tranquility, justice and equity shall continue to guide all Nigerians in every dealing.

HRH Dr Selky used the opportunity to hail the Government on the occasion of Nigeria’s 61st Independence celebration, calling for more efforts in addressing issues in an equitable manner to allow citizens feel the impact of government.
