The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite has said that the Commission would commence this year’s Easter pilgrimage exercise by the end of May.
He disclosed this on Friday, 22nd March , 2024 during a courtesy visit to NCPC Corporate headquarters by a non governmental organization, Sweet Home Africa , a humanitarian foundation who are also involved in pilgrimaging, led by its chairman and founder, Rev. Austin Epunam.
The NCPC boss explained that the Easter pilgrimage would commence in May and run through July while the main Pilgrimage would commence in November and would run through February, next year.
He averred that him and his management team had resolved and are determined to leave a lasting legacy in the Commission. According to him,” God will not leave us, we are going to work in synergy and in tandem “.
The NCPC helmsman further hinted that NCPC mandate is beyond pilgrimage as the Commission is also a veritable platform to foster unity among Nigerians irrespective of denomination and faith.
He further assured that the present administration of President Bola Ahmed TInubu has a human face and as such he enjoined everyone to support the government so that they would be able to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
He maintained that with the support of his guests, the image of NCPC would certainly be restored. ” We shall restore the image of NCPC together”, he said.
Earlier, Rev Austin Epunam said he could not contain himself for joy when the news of the appointment of the Executive Secretary was made known.
He assured the NCPC boss that the best was yet to come, that the lost glory of the Commission would be restored. The lost glory will be restored, we are going to revive the Commission, ” he said.
He pledged his unflinching support for the Commission. He also prayed that the NCPC Scribe would serve well, and would finish his tenure successfully.
