NCPC Receives Visit from Pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. John Kennedy Opara

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) warmly welcomed its Pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. John Kennedy Opara (OFR), on June 10, 2025, at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja. This historic visit marked the first time since he exited office in 2016.

During the visit, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, expressed his gratitude to God and Prof. Opara for hosting the Commission’s staff retreat at his CSS Global Integrated Farms in Gora, Nassarawa State. Bishop Adegbite commended Prof. Opara’s legacy assured him that the Commission would continue to build on the foundation he laid.

Prof. Opara, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of serving God and humanity. He quoted Romans 14:8 and reflected on his time building the Commission, urging current staff to work with a clear conscience and focus on their achievements and legacy. He stressed that life is like a seed, and one should strive to sow good seeds that would speak for them when they are gone.

The Chairman of the Board of NCPC, RT Rev Prof Mgr Cletus Gotan, offered prayers for Prof. Opara, whose 25th wedding anniversary coincided with his visit. He also prayed for the Executive Secretary and staff of the Commission, wishing them continued success in their mission.

The visit was a significant moment for the Commission, and both parties expressed their commitment to serving God and humanity. The NCPC looks forward to continuing its mission, building on the foundation laid by Prof. Opara.
