The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board Unit today elected New Leaders to steer the affairs of the Union for Four Years.
The Election which took place today Tuesday 2nd April, 2019 at the Conference Hall of the State Universal Basic Education Board Headquarters Dogon Dutse Jos North LGA, Plateau State had 133 Delegates who participated in the election which was conducted by Officers of State NASU.
Of the positions, only the Chairmanship was keenly contested between Cmr. Chung Ali and Cmr. Kudu Anko Shedrach while the Secretary, Treasurer and Ex-Officio were unopposed.
Cmr. Kudu Anko emerged the Chairman after pulling 71 Votes to defeat his Opponent Cmr. Chung Ali who scored 62 Votes. No invalid vote was recorded.
Simdul Chindy Nankat and Helen Betzoom Njin emerged Secretary and Treasurer of the Union respectively while others were returned unopposed as Ex-Officios.
The election was free, fair and credible.
The Director of Personnel Management of the Board, Mrs Nanlop T. Gupiya who stood in for the Executive Chairman of the Board, Prof. Matthew Nshin Sule congratulated the newly elected Executive with a charge on them to work towards the progress of the Union, the Board and State at large.
She prayed God to grant the new Officials divine wisdom to lead. She said she look forward to a healthy working relationship with the Union.
She said God gives leadership and has made them leaders to represent the Union.
She went further to charge to carry all along and always trust God for wisdom.
She admonished them to use the position God has given them sincerely.
She for God’s guidance so that they can serve meticulously.
State Secretary administered oath of office on the elected Officials.
The New Chairman, Cmr. Anko Kudu in his acceptance speech thanked the delegates for finding them worthy and electing them.
He said he would assess the weaknesses of the past and work towards addressing them.
He promised to be more available, accessible and not disappoint the mandate accorded them.
Cmr. Kudu said he will work with all members by running an all-inclusive leadership to enhance the growth of the Union.
