Former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly and Member representing Pankshin South in the House, Hon Istifanus Mwansat, has blamed the current leadership crisis bedevilling the National Assembly as APC’s inability to manage success, and has called on APC to apologise to Nigerians for abandoning National obligation for a political party meeting.

Mwansat who is serving PDP member in the Plateau State House of Assembly disclosed this in an exclusive chat with journalists in Jos.

He said, “There is a new wind blowing, they call it the change concept and of course I think that is what APC believes that it can give to us, by what they termed as change. Change in how you manage success; PDP managed success very well, positively well; there’s a change; and we are beginning to see that APC is giving us the impression that they cannot manage their success very well and as a result, the sustenance or survival of democracy is being threatened.

“By the kind of activities going on in the National Assembly, and if that happens, we heap the blame on APC, because they’ve not been able to manage their problems very well.

“If you have a problem that concerns only your party, you don’t rub it over the entire country.

The Lawmaker who is a PDP stalwart and has been in the House since 2007, maintained that, “First and foremost Nigerians deserves an apology from APC, because they placed party interest above national obligation.

“When the President issued a proclamation, that the House convenes and be inaugurated at 10am that was a national duty, you were supposed to be in the Chambers at 10am, but you chose not to be there, rather you went for your political party meeting, over and above National obligation. I think that was a fundamental error and Nigerians deserve an apology from members of APC particularly the Senators.

“By and large Nigeria is like a bus, we are all passengers within this bus, so if the bus derails or crash, we are all in it. So as passengers within the bus, we all owe it a duty to pray for our driver, to drive this bus safely to the destination. But if you are a reckless driver, we also have the responsibility to draw your attention to the fact that you are driving rough”. He stressed.
