NASCO Group Nigeria on Saturday presented food items to the Federal Ministry of women affairs in order to enable women and less privileged in the state cope with the economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 disease ravaging the world.
Our correspondent report that the items presented to the ministry for onward distribution to women includes 25 bags of rice ,30 cartoons of spaghetti , 30 cartoons of Maggi and several other assorted food items .
Presenting the items to the Hon Minister of women affairs Dame Pauline Tallen in Jos , Human Resource Manager of NASCO group, Sarah Bitrus said the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to support the work being done by state and non-state actors in response to the pandemic.
She pointed out that the donations were consistent with the company’s core corporate commitment to provide the quality life, always.
Bitrus commended the proactive and exemplary effort by government at all levels to halt the spread of the virus.
Minister for women affairs Mrs Tallen who was represented by her Personal Assistant Bala Baba Mohammed ,thanked Nasco group for the food items and said that the ministry would be distributed to the downtroden in the society .

The NASCO Group Nigeria has donated N60 million worth of items for distribution to vulnerable Nigerians and health centres to cushion the effect of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
The Group’s Executive Chairman, Dr Attia Nasreddin, said on Saturday in Jos, that the items would be handed over to Plateau and Lagos state governments as well as the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
Attia said the items for Lagos and Ogun states as well as the FCT were already being transported while that of Plateau would be donated to the government next week.
Also, COVID-19: Varsity donates food items to Jigawa, Kano govts.
He said the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to support the work being done by state and non-state actors in response to the pandemic.
The chairman listed the items donated to include: Action Multipurpose Detergent for hand washing, cleaning of surfaces and related hygiene practices.
“NASCO Whole Flaked Cornflakes to feed persons in COVID-19 isolation centres in Lagos and Ogun states as well as the Internally Displaced Persons camps.
“NASCO Champ (high nutrient density) biscuits for children of 5-10 years in Abuja, Lagos, Ogun and Plateau states.
“Large consignments of Action Detergent, NASCO Champ Biscuits and Whole Flakes Cornflakes each to Jos University Teaching Hospital, Bingham University Teaching Hospital and Plateau Specialist Hospital all in Jos.
