NAOWA President Inaugurate Projects Executed by NAOWA 3 Division Jos, Distributes Palliative to Wives of Fallen Heroes, Others

The 23rd President of Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) and Wife of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja on Thursday 23rd November, 2023 commissioned some projects Executed by NAOWA 3 Division Jos, Plateau State with a call on other NAOWA Chapter Chairpersons across the Nation to emulate the giant infrastructural, empowerment and skills acquisition strides being undertaken by the NAOWA Chairperson 3 Division Chapter Jos, Mrs Fibishola Abubakar.


Mrs Lagbaja flanked by the NAOWA Chairperson Jos Chapter and other National Executives of the Association stated that NAOWA will continue to sustain its commitment toward the betterment of humanity, enhancing capacities of Members and other Nigerians. She promised to consolidate on existing legacies of her predecessors, embark on new projects and carry out people-centred programmes that would have direct impact on Members and the citizens.
She stated that the purpose of their visit was to familiarise themselves with other Chapter since her assumption to office and also appraise the performance of Chairpersons in their respective Chapters as well as commission projects embarked upon by the NAOWA Chairperson Jos Chapter, Mrs Fibishola Abubakar.


She commended the Jos Chapter NAOWA Chairperson for the projects she was able to execute within the shortest time in office and urged her not to relent but do more in order to achieve the overall mandate of the Association which is tailored towards impacting Members, the Citizens and society. She appreciated the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Jos for the support he is according NAOWA and ensuring that they make greater and better impact to humanity.

“It is certain that the Chairperson NAOWA 3 Division Chapter wouldn’t have been able to make these giant strides without your support and encouragement” she said.
She urged Graduands of the NAOWA Skills Acquisition to make good use of the training they have acquired and also be responsible citizens. She also called for the effective use of the projects commissioned.

In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army Jos and Commander Operation Safe Haven, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar who was flanked by Senior Officer of the Division lauded the tireless efforts and visionary leadership being displayed by the NAOWA President in skill acquisition programmes, projects execution and other empowerment activities which has the propensity of reducing crimes by taking many off the streets. He assured her that the Headquarters 3 Division has keyed into her sterling vision for NAOWA which he said is anchored on three fulcrum pillars; sustaining legacies, unwavering commitment and betterment of humanity.

“Your vision has propelled NAOWA and by extension the Nigerian Army to greater heights within the short period of time that you assumed the command” he said.
He commended her for her efforts toward enhancing humanity, capacity building of her staff and colleagues as well as her welfare and humanitarian interventions to the needy especially Wives of Fallen Heroes.
He further commended her for or placing high premium on education and technology.

Among the projects commissioned are; NAOWA Multipurpose Hall, Renovated NAOWA Nursery & Primary School, NAOWA Bus Stop & Tricycles to meet the transport needs of people in the Barracks, NAOWA Ambulance and the Ground breaking of NAOWA Recreational Centre & Park.
She also distributed Palliative which include foodstuffs and cash donations to wives of Fallen Heroes and Graduands of the NAOWA Skills Acquisition Centre.
