The National Association of Nigeria Students NANS has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Dr Umar Abubakar Hashidu, son of the late former Governor of Gombe State (Late Governor Habu Hashidu) as the Managing Director North East Development Commission (NEDC).

The congratulatory message came through the President, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Comrade Umar Barambu during an interaction with journalists in Abuja, the nations Capital on Thursday 18th May, 2023.

Comrade Barambu described the appointment as well deserved and timely, stressing that Dr Umar is not only qualified but strategically qualified. He hailed the President for giving the people of Gombe the opportunity to lead the commission on behalf of the entire people of the North East.

Dr. Umar Hashidu who is a “prepared Nigerian Youth” has made remarkable inputs in the Private sector where he held various managerial positions, most recently the Managing Director Yola Electricity Distribution company (YEDC).

He however used the opportunity to advised young people especially from Gombe State not to allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous elements whose stock in trade is to demarket and water down the potentials seen in worthy Nigerians.
