NANS calls on Religious Leaders and Critical Stakeholders not to incite post election violence

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has caution Religious Leaders and Critical Stakeholders on their utterances given the current tensed nature of the country, as results of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections held on Saturday 25th February 2023 continue to filter in. This was disclosed by the President of NANS Comrade Umar Barambu while addressing Journalists in Gombe, the Gombe State Capital.

The NANS President was reacting to utterances coming from stakeholders which according to him are capable of causing tension across the country, and joepardize National Security. He urged them to instead help maintain peace and unity in their words.

The NANS President also used the opportunity to call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue the collation process and announce valid winners, urging any person or group of persons who may be dissatisfied with the outcome of the results to file their documents and head to court rather than sponsor the breakdown of law and order.
