Women group in Plateau South Senatorial zone on Thursday commended the Senator representing the zone in the National Assembly
Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut for her efforts at providing succor for victims of the Namu Yam market fire disaster which occurred last month .
Our correspondent reports that the Senator Ladi Dadu’ut had on Tuesday moved a motion on the Floor of the National Assembly urging the Federal Government through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other agencies to support victims of the fire incident that engulfed the popular Namu Central Yam Market in Qua’an Pan Local government Area, Plateau State.
Her motion was seconded by Senator Barau Jibrin who represents Kano North Senatorial District and the Senate there after urged the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs; NEMA and other relevant government agencies to immediately provide relief materials to the traders as well as respond to the huge financial losses resulting from the fire outbreak, to provide succor to all those affected.
The Senator also called on the Federal Government to carry out any other immediate action which will improve the condition of living of the affected community, resulting from the fire outbreak.
The group in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos and signed by Juliana Nanjul their spokesperson extolled the leadership virtues of their Senator ,Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut for her support to them and the constituents since she got elected to the National Assembly.
“We would use this opportunity to thank our senator for the good works she has been doing in her constituency since she got elected.”
“Prof Dadu’ut’s efforts as Senator is yielding results the further added .
“We commend the Senator for recently empowering youths and women in her constituency.”
They lauded the Senator for her courage, patriotism and commitment to nation building as well as her quest to better the wellbeing of women and youths in her consistency.
The statement also reads that “We have noticed your quest to improve the standard of living of farmers , women and the aged in the society.”
“We are confident that you would work for the betterment of our Senatorial zone , Plateau and Nigeria in General.”
They called on people of the zone to rally round Prof Nora and ensure that she excels as senator of the zone.
