MUCDA RECEIVES REPORT FROM CONSTITUTION REVIEW/ADVISORY COMMITTEE. -ELECTION INFOCUS..

In other to reduce some of the bottlenecks associated with its constitution and prepare a better ground for its incoming elected executive,the Mupun Cultural And Development Association (MUCDA) EXCO has received report from a Constitution Review and Advisory Committee it set up on the 17th July 2020.

Presenting the report,Chairman of the five man Committee, Barrister Richard Glong said they have carefully sat and observed some of the areas that had been in contention,had contestable clauses,marginalised some members and communities among others and offered suggestions on the best way to remedy such situations in best way to carry all along.

He said the committee also observed some statements in the constitution which if not rewritten will deny Mupun sons and daughters of effectively participating in the activities of MUCDA.

Glong said the team of five Barristers sat four times in all to come up with the document after carefully observing the contents of the constitution sentence by sentence,clause by clause and page by page and said as thus they where able to conclude in less than the one month period given them for the assignment.

He thanked MUCDA for finding them.worthy to serve saying they did it with all sense of responsibility.

Receiving the document,MUCDA President, Chief Pedro Ardiyel Dafur in company of other exco said part of their role as MUCDA in acting capacity will be to see that the forthcoming MUCDA elections to bring in a substantive exco is rancor free as the loopholes in the constitution are much since the constitution was last reviewed in 2007 instead of every five years as stated.

He said the desire is that which ever exco that comes in soon should have some solid grounds to operate carrying all along.

The MUCDA President said a meeting of the Joint Action Committee,JAC will be convened and a General Congress of MUCDA to follow there by having the further inputs of all members before adoption as a document.

He called on all to be part of the process to come up within the shortest possible time to enable MUCDA have a reliable working constitution as other development associations saying that will open doors for greater partnerships for the development of the Mupun Nation.

Dafur commended the Committee for the sacrifice of time and their personal resources in carrying out the assignment saying it shows the true Mupun spirit.
