The PDP Chairmanship Candidate Riyom LGA, Plateau State, Mr. Kim Titus Danja has condemned renewed spates of attacks, killings and destruction of property in Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Bassa LGAs of Plateau State.

Mr. Kim Danja also frowned at the nonchalant attitude, silence, insensitivity and inaction of the government towards the killings.

His statement is contained in a condolence letter made available to ViewPointNigeria as shown below:

CONDOLENCE:
I, on behalf of my family, and friends wish to convey my profound sympathy to the peace loving people of Barkin Ladi/ Riyom,and indeed Bokkos,Bassa local government areas of plateau state over the unprovoked killings of innocent lives and destruction of properties and farm-lands that has continued unabated over the recent months and still counting.

It is very sad that government is apparently nonchalant with little or no convincing efforts to protect and defend its hopeless and harmless citizens, in fulfilment of its primary function,as enshrined in our constitution. The result is the uncontrollable orgy of genocidal herdsmen’s activities which has been enmeshed by politics of self centeredness taking the front-burner by those at the echelon of power, unfortunately.

It is now glaring that there is a conspiracy of silence amongst the different arms of government and the security in promoting this ethnic cleansing that has become a daily phenomenon. A sensible , proactive and responsible government would have considered the protection of lives of its citizens as most paramount and sacrosanct by promptly nipping this terrorists menace in the bud and bring the perpetrators to justice, but not for its top officials to periodically issue vexatious rationalisations regarding the ongoing genocide.The continued attack on innocent citizens and the silence and inaction is suggestive of high wire complicity which is gaining high currency among the citizenry. This is indeed a matter of big concern.

My heart and prayers goes to those that lost their Loved ones as a result of this unfortunate and avoidable carnage and may God arise in protection and defense of his people…
