Minority Leader PLHA, Hon. Daniel Dem Declares Intention for House of Reps

The Minority Leader Plateau State House of Assembly, a ranking member in the Assembly and Member representing Riyom Constituency, Hon. Daniel Dem has declared his intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives Seat Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in 2019 under his political party, the PDP.

The event took place on Friday 3rd August, 2018 and was well attended.

The Minority Leader and Member representing Riyom in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Daniel Dem has assured the good people of Barki-Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency that the Peoples Democratic Party has been repositioned to provide the requisite leadership necessary for nation building.

Dem, who is aspiring to represent the Constituency at the House of Representatives made the assurance when he visited the LGA Party offices at Barkin-Ladi and Riyom to officially declare his intention to the people of the Federal Constituency in the PDP Local Government Offices in Riyom and Barkin Ladi.

The lawmaker said his intention to contest was borne out of an utmost desire to bring his wealth of legislative experience to bear at the federal level, having served two terms as a Councillor and now in his second term at the State House of Assembly in addition to other positions of leadership he held.

After giving stewardship of the mandates giving to him, he attributed the modest achievements he recorded in all the elected offices he held to the grace of God and the cooperation of his constituents.

He thanked the people of Riyom Constituency for the mandate given to him.

He solicited for the support and cooperation of the people of Barkin-Ladi and Riyom with the view to actualizing his ambition as the forthcoming primary elections of the Party approaches.

Speaking separately, the Party chairmen of Barkin-Ladi and Riyom LGAs assured members of the Party of their unflinching commitments to providing a level palying ground for all aspirants contesting under the platform of the Party.

Director General of the Campaign Team Christened “Hope 2019” Da Dr. Bulus Pam Logalang said Hon. Dem is an experienced Legislator endowed with competence, integrity and humility as being demonstrated over the years.

He called on the people of the Federal Constituency to support him to bring more people-oriented projects and programmes that would add value to the people and the Federal Constituency.

He said with the experience the legislator has gathered overtime, he would not have to learn the rope of legislative engagements and affairs.

Goodwill messages came from the spouse of the Hon. Member, Mrs. Sarah Dem, Representatives of women, youths, elders and Igbo community.

Hon. Dem has served his Ward twice as Elected Councillor, later appointed as Supervisory Councillor on Health Riyom Local Government Council and later he was appointed Legislative Aide to Late Sen. Gyang Dantong.

Many believe he is well rooted in terms of legislation considering the elective legislative positions he has occupied and currently occupying.
