News available to ViewPointNigeria indicates that Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), the multi-security task force maintaining peace in Plateau State and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, has arrested 8 suspects and seized 13 rifles from the recent clash of miners in Gyel, Jos South LGA of Plateau State.
The clash which was between miners from Gyel and others from Miango district of Bassa LGA resulted in the death of 6 people.
The Commander of OPSH, Major-General Nicholas Rogers, made this known while parading the suspects and arms at the command headquarters in Jos yesterday.
He said OPSH made the arrests and seizures during an operation at Pasho village in Bassa Local Government Area.
The commander said, the mining site has been closed and his men are maintaining the peace, order and further clearance operations in the area.
